We have been planning to go to Italy but now there is a greater impetus for a trip. Our daughter, Ariana, has joined the Peace Corps and is now in the country of Georgia. So what better reason is there than to go to Italy and then meet up with Ariana in Istanbul, Turkey! So on with the planning!
As it stands now we will begin our trip in Venice for 3 nights then make our way down to Florence where we plan to rent an apartment for 5 nights. From Florence we can take day trips to Pisa, Siena and possibly some other small towns. From Florence we will make our way to Rome and rent an apartment there for 5 nights. After seeing the sites of the Eternal City we will head over to Istanbul for another 5 nights to explore that city.
